I don't remember the first time I learned that Neil Gaiman was Jewish, but I do remember that it hadn't occurred to me before. I mean, you read most Michael Chabon, and it's pretty obvious. Today I finished reading Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, the third time I've read it, but the first time in - seven years? Wow. And I will say, seven years makes such a vast difference in both understanding and appreciation. What a completely fantastic, amazing piece of literature. I can't remember ever reacting to a book this way before.

I'm coming to realize that I'm really rather old in the blogging world, or at least middle-aged - I'll have had this journal for five years on Tuesday, which is a little ridiculous, if you ask me.
